This position will be located in beautiful St. Petersburg, Florida.

This company has a unique and exciting growth opportunity available as SENIOR PROGRAMMER/ANALYST for a leader with experience working in an environment using Visual Basic 6.0/VB.net. This is a new position created due to rapid growth and the individual selected will have the opportunity to work with a team developing leading edge software. The position will have great visibility as new systems are developed and implemented and has unlimited career growth potential. The position currently reports directly to the Vice President of Automation Technology.

As a Visual Basic expert, you will be called upon to understand our business environment and look for areas for improvement. You specifically will look at the existing software systems and our electrical and mechanical devices. Primary responsibilities will include:

• Developing software and support system activities including designing, coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs.

• Examining document requirements, technical design documents, unit test, system test, user acceptance test, and implementation plans for small to complex projects.

• Database programming including table design.

• Writing stored procedures, functions and triggers

• Understanding database normalization including referential integrity, use of indexes and database constraints.

The individual we seek must be a leader or have the potential to lead and possess strong negotiating skills. You will possess patience and the ability to gain consensus for your new ideas. A degree in Computer Science/Information Systems, good multi-tasking and communication skills, and strong leadership skills are necessary qualifications. Two to five years experience working in an environment using Visual Basic is required. Experience with VB.net, C++, Oracle, SQL Server is a plus. Experience with software for electrical/ mechanical devices, robotics, PLC, Single-Board (embedded) computers, and graphical, command line and tactical user interfaces is also beneficial, but not required.

The compensation package will be attractive for this position with a strong base salary and a significant bonus opportunity for the right individual.
